胡衡,1978年出生,中共党员,教育部长江学者特聘教授。2006年获法国梅斯大学固体力学博士学位;2007年在巴黎综合理工固体力学实验室从事博士后研究工作;2008年回国任教于武汉大学 2011年破格晋升为教授。主要从事计算固体力学与复合材料力学研究,现已发表SCI论文80余篇。主持国家重点研发计划重点专项、国家自然科学基金重点国际合作研究项目、面上项目、国防科技173计划领域基金等多项国家级科研项目;受邀在巴黎第二十届国际复合材料结构大会(ICCS20)等多个国际学术会议上作大会报告;兼任JCR一区期刊Composite Structures联席主编、Mechanics of Advanced Materials and Structures及《力学进展》编委、国际计算力学学会理事、中国力学学会理事、湖北省复合材料学会副理事长、湖北省力学学会副理事长
